How can we help?
Find quick answers for location, AR, subscriptions, offline use, alerts, and solar planning. If the issue is specific to your device or purchase, send an email and include the details that will help reproduce it.
Why does Solstice need my location?
Only features that use your current position need location access. Solstice requests iOS “When In Use” permission, not background location. You can also plan around selected or saved places without continuously sharing your current location. Permission can be changed at any time in iOS Settings.
Why does AR need camera access?
The AR view uses the camera as the live background for placing the calculated solar path into your surroundings. If camera access is denied, unsupported, or unavailable, Solstice can fall back to its native Sun Compass experience where supported by the app flow.
Does Solstice work offline?
Once a coordinate and timezone are known, core solar position, event timing, shadow direction, seasonal calculations, saved-place planning, and related astronomy can be calculated locally. Fresh map tiles, place search, and Look Around depend on Apple network services and may be unavailable offline.
Why is sunrise or sunset different from another source?
Small differences can come from the exact coordinate, timezone, elevation assumptions, atmospheric-refraction model, local horizon obstructions, or the threshold a service uses for apparent sunrise and sunset. Solstice uses astronomical calculations for the selected place and local day; real-world visibility can still differ because of terrain, buildings, vegetation, clouds, and haze.
What does Estimated Shade mean?
Estimated Shade is a directional astronomical estimate. It can show the opposite direction from the sun and a theoretical shadow length when an object height is known. It does not model arbitrary nearby buildings, trees, terrain, or every physical obstruction, so it should not be treated as an architectural shadow study.
How do I enable or fix notifications?
Solstice asks for notification permission only when you intentionally enable an alert. If alerts are not appearing, check Settings → Notifications → Solstice and confirm notifications are allowed. Also verify that the alert is still enabled in Solstice and that your device date, time, and timezone are correct.
How do I restore my subscription?
Use the Restore Purchases action in the App’s subscription or settings area when available. Make sure the device is signed into the Apple account that made the purchase and has a network connection. Solstice uses RevenueCat to synchronize entitlement status with eligible App Store purchases. If the entitlement still does not appear, email support with the approximate purchase date and product type; do not send full payment details.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions purchased in the iOS App are managed by Apple. Open iOS Settings, tap your Apple Account name, choose Subscriptions, select Solstice, and use Apple’s cancellation controls. Deleting Solstice does not by itself cancel an active subscription.
How do I request a refund?
App Store purchases and refunds are handled by Apple under its applicable policies and local law. Use Apple’s purchase-history or refund-request flow for the Apple account that made the purchase. If you need help identifying the Solstice purchase or entitlement, contact support.
How do I delete my Solstice data?
Solstice does not require an account. Delete saved places and related local content using in-app controls where available, or remove the App to remove its local app container subject to iOS backup behavior. For a privacy request involving support correspondence or pseudonymous service-provider records, see the Privacy Policy or email augustin.dev@tutamail.com.
Which languages are supported?
Solstice is designed to ship in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Dutch. The app follows the iPhone’s language and locale settings for supported languages.
